HOW TO RELIEVE CONSTIPATION DURING PREGNANCY
Of all the potential side effects of pregnancy, constipation can be one of the most irritating. This article will discuss how to avoid constipation and stay regular while you’re pregnant.
WHY PREGNANCY CAN MAKE YOU CONSTIPATED
The same hormones that help your body adjust to carrying a baby by expanding your uterus could also be relaxing your intestinal muscles and causing difficulties in the bathroom. Combine that with an increase in stress, anxiety, and getting less physical exercise than you’re used to, and that’s a recipe for constipation.(2)
You may also be experiencing constipation during your pregnancy if your healthcare provider has prescribed you iron pills, which are known to cause constipation. If you’re taking iron, talk to your healthcare provider about constipation relief.

1. Get more fiber. One of the best actions you can take when you feel constipated is to add more fiber to your diet. Some of the most fiber-rich foods are: almonds, lima beans, broccoli, chia seeds, brussels sprouts, chickpeas, and avocados (along with many more).
