What is Meta Appetite Control?
Meta Appetite Control is a fiber supplement from the makers of Metamucil. It contains 100% natural psyllium; is clinically proven to help you feel less hungry between meals;* and helps you “break up” with daily snack cravings.
Meta Appetite Control is available in two flavors:Orange Zest and Pink Lemonade Quench. Just add to water—or another cold liquid— and staying on track becomes delicious. An unflavored version of Meta Appetite Control (Smoothie Enhancer) is also available to add to your favorite smoothie or cold juice.
How is Meta Appetite Control different than Metamucil powders?
The dosing directions differ on the Meta Appetite Control products so please consult the label of the product you are using for the correct serving size and frequency.
Meta Appetite Control's directions of use for feeling less hungry between meals* adults 12 years and over: Two rounded teaspoons in 8 or more ounces of liquid with meals, up to three times daily.
I am interested in controlling my appetite as well as helping lower cholesterol, maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, promoting digestive health, or all of them. Can I—or should I— take both Meta Appetite Control and Metamucil MultiHealth Fiber?
No, it is not necessary. Each of these fiber supplements contain psyllium husk, the ingredient that provides all of these benefits. Choose only one product, and please consult the label of the one you are using for the correct dose size and frequency.
Also, if you are currently using Metamucil MultiHealth Fiber, it is unnecessary to switch to Meta Appetite Control or add it to your diet. You are already getting the appetite control benefit from the psyllium husk in Metamucil MultiHealth Fiber as well as the other health benefits listed above as long as you follow the correct dosing.
How does Meta Appetite Control help me feel less hungry between meals?
Meta Appetite Control, when taken with 8 or more ounces of liquid with meals or added to a smoothie, helps you feel less hungry between meals.* This is because the Meta psyllium fiber thickens and forms a gel in your digestive system, slowing absorption and digestion, which aids in the sensation of fullness.
Is it OK to take Meta Appetite Control with food? Do I have to take Meta Appetite Control with a meal?
Any time of day is appropriate to take Meta Appetite Control as long as you drink enough fluids (at least 8 ounces of water or liquid per serving). We recommend taking Meta Appetite Control three times per day at mealtimes or added to a smoothie to get the benefit of feeling less hungry between meals.*
Please note: Bulk-forming fibers like psyllium husk may affect how well medicines work. Take this product at least 2 hours before or after oral medicines.
What is Smoothie Enhancer? Do I have to add this to a smoothie? Meta Appetite Control Smoothie Enhancer is an unflavored version with no added sweeteners. It’s a perfect fiber supplement option to add to your favorite smoothie or juice as you would typically make it. Make sure your recipe includes at least 8 oz. of total liquid.

Is it OK to use Meta Appetite Control every day?
Meta Appetite Control can be taken every day—up to three times per day—as a dietary fiber supplement. To help you feel less hungry between meals*, we recommend taking Meta Appetite Control with 8 oz. or more of cool liquid three times per day at mealtimes. The unflavored Smoothie Enhancer version is designed to be added to your favorite smoothie or juice, with at least 8 oz. of total liquid. New users should start with one serving per day and gradually increase up to desired intake. You may initially experience changes in bowel habits or minor bloating as your body adjusts to increased fiber intake.
What does “natural psyllium” mean?
Meta Appetite Control contains psyllium husk, a natural dietary fiber originating from Plantago ovata, which helps you feel less hungry between meals.*
What is maltodextrin?
The maltodextrin in Meta Appetite Control is a carbohydrate derived from cornstarch. It is used to improve texture and aid in mixing.
What does “gluten-free” mean?
The FDA defines "gluten-free" as meaning that the food either is inherently gluten free; or does not contain an ingredient that is: 1) a gluten-containing grain (e.g., spelt wheat); 2) derived from a gluten-containing grain that has not been processed to remove gluten (e.g., wheat flour); or 3) derived from a gluten-containing grain that has been processed to remove gluten (e.g., wheat starch), if the use of that ingredient results in the presence of 20 parts per million (ppm) or more gluten in the food. Also, any unavoidable presence of gluten in the food must be less than 20 ppm to meet the definition of gluten-free.
What is a low glycemic index (GI)?
When carbohydrates are digested, glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream. The slower the carbohydrate is digested, the slower the glucose appears in the blood—resulting in a low glycemic index rating. Different foods and products have wide range of glycemic index ratings.
Products with a low glycemic index have a relatively low impact on blood sugar levels, making them a good addition to any healthy diet. Meta Appetite Control has a low glycemic index.
Can Meta Appetite Control be used past the expiration date?
If your Meta Appetite Control product has expired, please don't use it. The expiration date is on Meta Appetite Control because we have research to show that the ingredients are stable until the expiration date—if stored according to label instructions. Please discard any expired product in your trash can. Do not pour Meta Appetite Control down your drain.
Can I add Meta Appetite Control powder to my coffee or hot tea?
No. Adding Meta Appetite Control to hot beverages makes it gel faster. We recommend adding Meta Appetite Control to cool or cold liquids.
I’ve just started taking Meta Appetite Control and I feel a little bloated. Is this normal?
Yes. You may initially experience changes in bowel habits or minor bloating as your body adjusts to increased fiber intake. This generally will subside as the body adjusts. We recommend that you start with 1 serving per day; gradually increase to desired daily intake. It's also important to remember to drink plenty of water when you are taking any fiber supplement or any high-fiber product. If you continue to have problems with gas and bloating—or any other side effects— please check with your doctor.
Should I take Meta Appetite Control as a meal replacement or when I’m hungry?
No. Meta Appetite Control is designed to be taken with a meal or as a booster to a smoothie. It is not designed to be a meal replacement, but can be taken with a snack if you are hungry.
Is Meta Appetite Control a laxative?
Meta Appetite Control contains natural psyllium fiber, which is known to provide relief of occasional constipation (irregularity) and to help promote and maintain regularity.* You may experience these side benefits when using the product.
