Walk About
Walking is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay fit and work your heart. Experts suggest that you walk 10,000 steps (equivalent to about 5 miles) daily to get your body to start burning fat for energy. That might sound daunting, but consider that you're counting steps all day long. Depending on what you do, you probably already walk 1 to 3 miles a day. The best way to measure how much ground you're covering is to get a pedometer, which counts the steps you take. Count how many steps you're taking and build up to 10,000 steps daily.
