Don't turn on your TV and tune out: The format of your favorite TV show is a great way to turn veg-out time into workout time. This is a great goal to try to focus the whole family on fitness. Next time you settle down to watch your favorite 30-minute sitcom, get out the weights and exercise your arms. Focus on different areas—from your triceps to biceps to shoulders—during the show, and rest during the commercial breaks. Take the next 30-minute sitcom to complete leg lifts and stretches, and do crunches during the commercials. Instantly, a half hour of TV time is transformed into a half hour of strength training.
